Sirron Consult
Services
Sirron Consult offers a full range of consultancy services for Small Scale Embedded Generation SSEG requirements. Consultancy services include:
Customer Assessment
We create sustainable Renewable Energy and Energy Storage solutions, based on a technical and financial analysis of a consumer’s current electricity consumption usage patterns, energy demand profile and cost analysis with respect to tariff structures:
- Engineering CSV. consumption data or reverse engineering monthly energy bills into useful design information; and
- Referencing available check metering data to fully understand and construct daily energy load profiles.
- Determine the customers motives for requiring renewable energy.
Designing and Engineering
Engineering Solar PV options (with energy storage / standby generation) to meet customer requirement for Self-Consumption and Load shedding. All of the above including “ Feed in” options can also be designed utilising:
- Commercial carport and rooftop Solar PV configurations.
- Small scale Utility projects up to 20 MWp
- Utilising only Tier 1 OEM equipment with cloud-based monitoring for best performance.
- Developing Comprehensive BOM for each solution offered.
Technical & Financial Consulting
Guiding customers on the best technical and financial solutions to meet capital investment requirements in Solar PV projects:
- Developing BOM and BOQ for establishing Project capital costing. Advise on availability of Tax and energy incentives to promote investment in Solar PV renewable energy projects.
- Financial analysis suitable for submission to CFO and Investment House personal.
Procurement
Advising the customer on the “Best Practice” procurement of Tier1 equipment. Assistance with developing post construction operations and maintenance service level agreements to suite customer requirements.
Execution
Developing Solar PV energy production projections utilising
- Helioscope and PVsyst simulation software.
- Calculating average Solar PV energy production profiles; and
- Calculating the value of the solar PV harvest produced required to reduce the Customer energy consumption from the utility.
Financed Solutions
Engineering economically viable PPA tariffs or Lease-to-own options. These offers ensure that Customers’ always pay less for energy when compared to the rising cost of the Utility supply.
About
The Director
For the most significant portion of his 45-year professional career in the electrical industry, Kevin Norris has been involved in the design and manufacture of Quality of Supply and Continuity of Supply equipment and services having also served as the Uninterruptible Power Supply Technical Ombudsman.
Kevin entered the Energy Management arena some 20 years ago and was very instrumental in being part of the change implementation process initially driven by Eskom and then driven by the Energy Industry. Most recently he has been responsible for the design engineering and development of a multitude of renewable energy (Solar photovoltaic) energy generation and energy storage delivery systems and serves as one of the SANS Workgroup members responsible for the development and implementation of the new SANS 10142-1-2 standards for the installation safety standards of Small-Scale Embedded Generators, notably Solar PV and Energy Storage up to one Megawatt.
He has held executive leadership positions during his career and has extensive knowledge in General Management, manufacturing and Research and Development. Business leadership assignments during Kevin’s career include serving as CEO of Ferro resonant Technologies for 25 years, Managing Director of Jasco Power and Energy for 3 years, Executive Director of the Jasco Group for one year before leaving the group to enter the Energy Consulting world.
Kevin has been responsible for the design and implementation of Transformers, Voltage stabilization and UPS systems for the Telecommunications and GSM industry. As Executive Director for Jasco, he was tasked with establishing an Energy management team responsible for DSM and Energy Efficiency projects. Kevin has been extensively trained locally and Internationally on the design, engineering, and implementation of solar PV systems from Commercial roof top to utility scale Ground mount systems, utilizing the Advanced features of Helioscope and PVsyst to obtain accurate and Bankable harvest figures.
